Sports & Wellbeing Design Contest
Exchange Programma Brugge, Belgium
Design Contest/ Spring 2017
Sports & Well-being Design Contest is a short program of study which involves students and teaching staff from higher education institutions all over Europe.
Group project.
Gelotology (client) wants to encourage children to move more in a positive way. They designed Zapgames which allows children to play active games with a portable device that receives laser beams from the TV remote control. The challenge for us was to develop a minimal idea into a full concept. The assignment gave us the choice to improve the product design or game design. We believe that the two subjects are closely linked to each other and went for both.
We added a buzzer to signal the children when for example they are ''hit''. Also they can easily wear and remove the device themselves by using a snap band, a tool every kid understands. To give this game a funny touch, we gave the device some animal sounds.
